This is the story of my Warrior Son – Little H. He was diagnosed with the coarctation of the aorta when he was still 21 weeks. On top of that, he had a small left heart and a blocked mitral valve.
He was due to arrive on 10 June 2017 but surprised us all when he popped out on 23 May 2017. He weighed 1975 grams, had a thick head of hair and looks pretty much like us both. He’s been in NICU since birth, went for his first major operation on 13 June to correct the coarctation, to improve the flow of blood from heart to lung to the rest of the body (I still can’t understand the whole process), and is recovering back in the NICU.
He’s my special angel, my little warrior. I love him with every fibre of my being.
